February

Students are finishing up with their exploration of basic economic concepts, including trade and trade barriers, supply and demand, and standard of living.  Students will soon look at how they might be an agent for change in the world in determining how they might address critical issues related to standard of living.

Maps are back.  Students will continue developing their mental maps of the world by working with maps of Europe, Asia, Australia, and Oceania.

The Horace Mann community enjoyed and entertaining and engaging evening at our fourth annual World Geography and Culture Night.  Amongst the popular activities were the potluck dinner, loteria, and gnocchi making.  We hope that you can join us next year.

Students enjoyed a journey to the center of the Earth when the EarthView Globe visited on February 6.  The experience gave the students a unique opportunity for a different perspective as the EarthView is one of only two globes like this in existence.
