DIRECTIONS    If you are waiting at any point, work with the Waiting Activities listed in the right-hand column of this page.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  In Google Classroom under RESOURCES, go to WHAT ARE SKETCHNOTES.                     1 minutes

3.   Watch the video on sketchnotes and examine the 3 examples.                        7 minutes

4.   By yourself, thoughtfully plan and create your own sketchnote on Ancient Aborigines.                       40 minutes
  • include a title
  • focus on main ideas and important details
  • fill the page with images, words (brief), symbols, arrows, and containers to organize the ideas
  • add color at the end
You should be able to have a finished sketchnote by the end of the period.

5.    At the top of your scrap paper doc or in your notebook, write at least 10 questions about the Ancient Aboriginal peoples that someone could answer using your sketchnote.
