3.   Make a copy of the document linked here, and follow the directions on the document. You may discuss with people near you and ask for clarification. Make sure, however, your answers are your own.     25 minutes

10/13 Physical & Human Geography

You are continuing with the paired reading from last week.  Work with the same partner.
2.  Using Geography Alive, you will do paired reading. One partner will read a chunk (smaller piece of the section) aloud while the partner reads silently.  Together you will discus the information, from the chunk, you need to put in the document found in the assignment in Google Classroom.  Then, the other partner reads the next chunk aloud. Proceed by alternating reading aloud and adding information to the document.   25 minutes

3. While you wait, complete the Google A Day challenge using Google Search techniques you have learned (which doesn't include searching the question).

10/11 Goal Setting

  • start becoming organized for student led conferences.

Why?
  • By identifying and stating goals and coming up with a plan you are more likely to achieve your goals.
  • To take ownership of your learning.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Organize the SLC portfolio as indicated in class.       5 minutes

3.  By yourself, brainstorm, in writing, your strengths and weaknesses in school.      5 minutes

4.  Create at least two academic goals that do not focus on grades. (refer to your brainstorm about strengths and weaknesses) For each goal create a plan or steps to achieve the goal - BE SPECIFIC       30 minutes
EXAMPLE:
GOAL - I will complete all my homework.
PLAN
  • Write hw in assignment book (AB)
  • bring all materials home
  • look in my AB at home
  • put away/avoid distractions while doing hw
  • check off hw in AB when completed
  • put completed hw in a hw folder
  • bring hw folder to all classes
