NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

Todaiclasyowill
  • write academic goals.
  • create a plan with specific steps to achieve each goal.
  • start becoming organized for student led conferences.

Why?
  • By identifying and stating goals and coming up with a plan you are more likely to achieve your goals.
  • To take ownership of your learning.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Organize the SLC portfolio as indicated in class.       5 minutes

3.  By yourself, brainstorm, in writing, your strengths and weaknesses in school.      5 minutes

4.  Create at least two academic goals that do not focus on grades. (refer to your brainstorm about strengths and weaknesses) For each goal create a plan or steps to achieve the goal - BE SPECIFIC       30 minutes
EXAMPLE:
GOAL - I will complete all my homework.
PLAN
  • Write hw in assignment book (AB)
  • bring all materials home
  • look in my AB at home
  • put away/avoid distractions while doing hw
  • check off hw in AB when completed
  • put completed hw in a hw folder
  • bring hw folder to all classes
5.  While you wait, complete the Google A Day challenge using Google Search techniques you have learned (which doesn't include searching the question).

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What goals have you set for yourself?
  • How do you plan on achieving them?
