  • To help you become better at supporting arguments.
  • To practice writing skills.

DIRECTIONS

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  A PERIOD:Wait for Mr.d'E for the Battle Royale.            25 minutes

3.  Review the work from yesterday's battle.  Based on the work you see, 

  • feedback you've received, 
  • and the resources in Google Classroom
  • what can you do to make the different parts of your writing better?  
  • Make appropriate revisions to your own argument writing piece (not in the Battle Royale). Make appropriate edits.        45 minutes


4.  Use Geography Alive and complete the tasks on the back board.

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please work on a sidequest or use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)





1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute



2. You should have the beginnings of an argument writing piece from last class. 5 paragraphs. A claim at the end of the first, a main idea at the start of each of body paragraph, and the claim restated at the end of the last paragraph.  Review last class' directions and the Argument Writing Structure in Google Classroom.        5 minutes



3. A & C PERIODS: Finish following the directions for the team challenge linked here.            35 minutes






4. B & D PERIODS: Take 10 minutes to finish with your teams or review your work with your teams to revise your writing.            10 minutes






5.  Wait for Mr.d'E for the Battle Royale           25 minutes

Do #2 through #9 if you did NOT do it last Tuesday.

2. Go to SDG Argument Writing in Google Classroom. Create a new doc WITHIN the assignment.        5 minutes

3. From your scrap paper, copy your response that you already have on what the SDG are. Paste it into the Assignment Doc.        5 minutes

  
4. From your evidence explanation doc, copy, for 3 goals, your evidence and explanations that you already have on what the SDG are. Do NOT copy the table. Each goal should be separated like a paragraph Paste it into the Assignment Doc after the first pasting.       5 minutes

5. From your scrap paper, copy your response that you already have on why it is important for people to know about the SDG Paste it into the Assignment Doc. This part should be last.        5 minutes.       
  
6.  In Google Classroom under resources, look at Argument Writing Structure under Argument Writing Support Materials.             5 minutes 

7.  Add a claim at the end of the first thing you pasted in your doc.             5 minutes

8.  Add a main idea before each of the goal paragraphs in your doc.             5 minutes

9.  At the start of the last thing you pasted in your doc, rewrite your claim in a different manner.            5 minutes

10.  Read the directions for the team challenge linked here.            5 minutes
