1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute
2. By yourself, brainstorm characteristics of a good student.          5 minutes

3.  When instructed, share with your group and determine the five most important in each category.           5 minutes

4.  Post your characteristics as a group.  Individually, put a small check mark on the ones (other than yours) that you most strongly agree with. We'll follow up with a discussion.          10 minutes

5.  By yourself, brainstorm characteristics of a good teacher.          5 minutes

6.  When instructed, share with your group and determine the five most important in each category.           5 minutes
