NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

  • choose a topic and plan how you will manage your time.
  • explore the physical features, climate, and natural resources of Africa and Asia.
  • understand how physical geography influences population density.
  • determine important points about a topic

Why?
  • To better understand the world around you.
  • To notice patterns in the world.
  • To develop time management skills.

1 With another near you, discuss - in your own words - why you are in social studies today (see above). 2 minutes

NOTE: Whenever you are waiting for Mr.d'E or others so you can complete a next step, appropriately comment on other students blogs: Give a compliment; respond to something specific (what did it make you think, do you agree/disagree - why), extend the conversation (add a relevant question; share what other ideas came to your mind as you read the post); do NOT critique their writing/thoughts. You may ALSO reply appropriately to comments left on your blog posts.

2.  Continue following your time management plan and meeting your expectations:       50 minutes
Where are you at?
  • Read and process information to become an expert on your topic.
  • organize information
  • take a quiz on your topic
  • plan and draft for the project
  • revise and put together; practice
  • finish
3. When done:
  • If your project is not a Google Doc
    • attach a Google Doc to the assignment in classroom.
    • Indicate what type of project it is (ex: museum exhibit).
    • Include a link if there is one.
    • Write the word "file" if your project is a file. If you have a question as to what you should do, please ask.
    • attach the project as well - link, file - if there is one
  • Turn in the project in Google Classroom at the completed project assignment.
  • Complete the last section of your Student Designed Project document. Turn it back in when ALL members have completed it.
  • You may email me any other comments about group members meeting the group expectations.
  • Complete the project reflection.
4. Friday: "walkabout" when Mr.d'E says it is ready.

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What did you learn about yourself by completing the project?
  • What was the most difficult thing about the project?
