1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute


2.  Make a copy of the document linked here.            5 minutes
  • Click the folder next to the document name to move to the social studies folder in the Classroom folder.
  • Then make four additional copies using FILE- Make a Copy.
  • Read through the document and be ready to ask questions about it.

3. We will watch a video together and complete one Doc together.           7 minutes

4.  With a person at your group, watch a video, discuss the characteristics, and then complete the two questions by yourself.  Repeat for the next three advertisements.  (Access the videos linked here.)           30 minutes

2.   Yesterday, you should have finished your response to the Election Reflection in G-Classroom, received feedback from Mr.d'E, revised appropriately, and turned it in.             1 minutes


Using Google Search techniques you have learned (which doesn't include searching the question), complete the Google A Day challenge while you wait.


3.  Some of you worked on this yesterday: Create a blog post using your writing, not the prompt/directions.     5 minutes
  • Include a title that hints at the main point of your writing.
  • Include an image, which you have permission to use, that complements your writing. Use Creative Commons or PhotosforClass.
    • If using Creative Commons, cite your source for the image. Use the EasyBib Add-on in your Doc.
    • If using PhotosforClass, download the image, and upload the image into your blog post so the citation appears on your image.
  • Copy & paste the following labels:  social studies, election
4. Check out the campaign buttons at the front and back of the room. Check out a sample ballot for the upcoming election.         7 minutes
