NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

  • identify elements of a world map.

Why?
  • To better understand the map as a tool for learning.

1.  We did this the other day:
In your scrap paper Doc follow  The Rules for Producing Questions listed belowfocusing on the topic maps:       5 minutes
  • Ask/write as many questions as you can
  • Do not stop to discuss, judge, or answer any questions - don't ask whether or not it is a good enough question
  • Write down every question exactly as it is stated - don't worry about wording
  • Change any statement into a question

With a partner label each question as open or closed.

2.    Label the map on the floor.    8 minutes

3.  Develop strategies to label it more quickly.      4 minutes

4. Label it more quickly - repeat.      20 minutes

5.  Exact location - practicing latitude and longitude     10 minutes

9/21 Blog Post

Whenever yoneehelppleasasfoit.

Todaiclasyowill
  • reflect on the purpose of generating your own questions.
  • reflect on using Google Search efficiently.

Why?
  • To develop strategies to more efficiently find information on the web.
  • To better understand how to learn more efficiently.

Finish these directions from yesterday.
1.  Go to Google Classroom to complete Questions/Search Reflection. You should only need a few minutes to finish.

2. Have Mr.d'E check your writing.       5 minutes

3.  Listen to the directions in the video linked here....and see #4.      8 minutes

4. Copy and paste what you wrote in the doc for the post.      8 minutes
  • make a creative, appropriate title - not the title of the assignment
  • The prompts should NOT be part of the post
  • add your Google Search graphic that you created - make sure your name is not in it
5.  Read through the Guidelines for Commenting linked here.      10 minutes

6. Imagine you are not the author of your blog post.  Read your blog post, and in your scrap paper, write an appropriate comment you would make after reading the blog post (keep the guidelines in mind; make it at least three sentences).       8 minutes

7. Complete the Google A Day challenge using Google Search techniques you have learned (which doesn't include searching the question).
