3.Discuss at your group: What are expectations and guidelines people should have when working together? 1 minute
4. Create your slide presentation and prepare to present. 12 minutes
5. Present 😃 25 minutes
6. Questions, clarification, and reaction.

This blog gives students a starting point and overview of what we will do in class. It also allows parents a glimpse into my classroom so they have a sense of what their children are doing in class on a day-to-day basis. It is my hope that parents will gain greater insight and the information will inspire greater conversation about class at home.
NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.
NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

1. Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above). 1 minute
2. You should have had each part of your theme work checked. You should be working on the map activity. 25 minute
These can be viewed and used when you get to the MY MAPS steps.
3. Complete the last part on your 5 Themes doc. Make your responses so that they can stand alone (restate to start). Use specific examples to help explain (Namib Desert instead of just desert). These should be at least several sentences each. 10 minute
4. On your blog, create a new blog post. 5 minute

11/1 Five Themes of Geography
- Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
- Please write your homework in your assignment book.
- Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).
Today in class you will
- think like a geographer.
- begin to understand the five themes of geography.
Why?
- To become better geographic thinkers.
- To develop your geographic lenses.
DIRECTIONS
If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)
1. Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above). 1 minute
2. You should have had each part of your theme work checked. You should be working on the map activity. 35 minute
- Collect all your information first.
- Include continent, example, & how the example shows the theme
- Then create the map
These can be viewed and used when you get to the MY MAPS steps.
3. Complete the last part on your 5 Themes doc. Make your responses so that they can stand alone (restate to start). Use specific examples to help explain (Namib Desert instead of just desert). These should be at least several sentences each.
4. On your blog, create a new blog post.
- Use your responses to the last part of the Themes doc for the content of the post.
- Embed your map.
- Include a title and the labels: social studies, 5 themes of geography.
