11/3 Five Themes of Geography Reflection / Review

  • Please write your homework in your assignment book.
  • Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).

Today in class you will
  • Reflect on your understanding of the five themes of geography.
Why?
  • To deepen your understanding of the five themes of geography.
  • To practice focusing on and thinking about your learning..

DIRECTIONS
  If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2. Complete the last part on your 5 Themes doc.          10 minute
  • Make your responses so that they can stand alone (restate to start).
  • Use specific examples to help explain (Namib Desert instead of just desert).  
  • Responses should be at least several sentences each.
3.On your blog, create a new blog post.         5 minute
  • Use your responses to the last part of the Themes doc for the content of the post.
  • Embed your map if you’ve started one..
  • Include a title and the labels: social studies, 5 themes of geography.

4. Create your slide presentation and prepare to present.         12 minutes
