12/1 Tuesday is News Day

  • read about and summarize a current world news story.
  • develop your understanding of the world.
Why?
  • To develop your mental map of the world.
  • To begin seeing connections between yourself and other parts of the world.
  • To better understand the world around you.

1 Go through each of your past news summaries using the editing checklist - revise appropriatel. 3 minutes each

2.  Make sure each news summary includes at least 5 sentences - revise appropriately - and resubmit.  5 minutes each

3.  Following the directions in Tuesday is News Day in Google Classroom, make sure each news story is plotted on your Google map and includes the summary.  3 minutes each

4.  Manipulate information on economic systems. 15 minutes

Parents
You could ask your child the following: 
  • What are some significant events that have been going on in the world?
  • Show me your Google world news map.
