NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

  •  categorize qualities of standard of living.
  • analyze the UN SDG in relation to standard of living.

Why?
  • To develop your understanding of standard of living.
  • To become more understanding of others.
  • To develop your critical thinking.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Open your scrap paper doc and review what you wrote about the pictures around the room.              2 minutes

3. Look at the pictures posted around the room without it becoming a social event.              5 minutes

4.  Wait for whole class discussion.             15 minutes

5. Comparison to UN SDG. http://www.globalgoals.org/             10 minutes

6. Investigate Dollar Street. Make note of what jumps out at you. Jot down what questions come up as you view Dollar Street.

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What five things begin to describe a place's standard of living?
  • How are the UN Sustainable Development Goals connected to standard of living?
  • Show me Dollar Street and tell me your biggest take-aways.
