NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

  •  share what you know about the Holocaust.
  • begin to make a personal connection to the Holocaust.

Why?
  • To develop your understanding of ethnic groups and religious groups.
  • To better understand your role as a global citizen.
  • To develop your critical thinking skills.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Look at the suitcase.  Imagine you suddenly need to leave your home. You are not really sure why, don't know for how long you will be gone, and don't even know if you'll be able to come back.  You only have 10 minutes to pack into the suitcase you see.  What would you pack?
On paper, write a list of what you would pack.             5 minutes

3.  Whole class share.               10 minutes

4. In your scrap paper doc, make a 2x2 table. Label one column as KNOW; label the other as WANT TO KNOW.               10 minutes

5. Whole class share.               10 minutes

5. Go to Google Classroom, read the first item, and open the document about thematic statements.               10 minutes

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What would you pack in your suitcase?
  • What is something you learned about the Holocaust?
