9/11 Mental Map & Feedback

Reminders
  • Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
  • Please write your homework in your assignment book.
  • Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).


Today in class you will
  • Reflect on your work and your classmates' work to provide actionable feedback.
  • Demonstrate some understanding of geography through a mental map.
Why?
  • To recognize and appreciate the significance of feedback.
  • To develop your understanding of geography.

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)
1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute
2.  By yourself, without any resources, and as best and detailed as you can, draw a map of the world          30 minutes

3.  Watch the following video.          6 minutes



4. Whole class discussion.          5 minutes

5. With your assigned partner, give actionable feedback on one area of their map.          10 minutes


6. Use the feedback.          10 minutes

7.  Wait for a whole class discussion. (See purple highlighted direction above.)          5 minutes
