10/26 Developing Questions

Reminders
  • Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
  • Please write your homework in your assignment book.
  • Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).

Today in class you will
  • Generate closed questions.
  • Prioritize those questions.
Why?
  • To develop your critical thinking as a geographer.
  • To hone your geography skills.
  • To enable you to better understand the world.

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)
1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute
2.  Model questions and prioritizing.            8 minutes         

3. Generating general questions.           5 minutes

4.  Generate and ask questions.           5 minutes

5.  Develop new questions based on answers to your questions.           15 minutes
