If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)


1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  Without any resources, picture the features of the Earth in your mind.         5 minutes

3.  Map of the world.         40 minutes

4.  Check in          5 minutes

Ask them.......
  • How good was your map of the world?  What did you remember? What did you forget?

  • To better understand human geography and physical geography.

2.  In your assigned group, identify who will take the following roles: time keeper, note taker, speaker(s)         5 minutes

3.  Note takers will use scrap paper.          30 minutes
  • For 2 minutes, list what you see in each quadrant of the photo. 
  • For 2 minutes, list things that may show human geography and, separately, things that may show physical geography.
  • For 2 minutes, write how the photo shows physical and human geography are connected.
