3/10 Adapting to the Andes

Today in class you will

  • process information you know about the Andes Mountains.
Why?

  • To deepen your understanding of human geography.
  • To deepen your understanding of physical geography.
  • To develop your understanding of the connection between physical and human geography.

DIRECTIONS

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  A C D PERIODS By yourself, use notes and the text to finish/complete the work linked here.        25 MINUTES

3.  By yourself, create/finish a sketchnote that addresses the following:  How do climate, physical features, natural resources, and population impact where people live, how people live, and economic activity in the Andes?        25 MINUTES

  • Use the work from #3, including the key terms.
  • Use a balance of drawings, symbols, and words.
  • Fill one side of a page.
  • Draw and write first, then add appropriate color.        

4.  By yourself, read your book.

5.   Gallery walk.
