Today in class you will

  • read and discuss at least one Ancient Greek myth.

Why?
  • to develop your understanding of Ancient Greece
  • to practice reading skills
  • to practice critical thinking skills

DIRECTIONS    If you are waiting at any point, work with the Waiting Activities listed in the right-hand column of this page.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  Read aloud the myth assigned to your group and discuss the following:        15 minutes
  • What happened?
  • What was the conflict?
  • What message does it send about behavior?

3.  Read and discuss a second story of the group's choice.

4.  Whole class share                 5 minutes

5.   Whole class read aloud                 5 minutes
