9/24 Questioning - Investigating Regions



Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
Please write your homework in your assignment book.
Please review the goal and agenda for the day which is posted in the classroom.


Today in class you will 
  • continue gaining in understanding how to create questions for guiding your learning.
  • begin to explore regions of the world with your questions.
Why?
  • In order to drive your own learning.
  • To develop your geographic understanding and mental map of the world so you can better relate to and make connections to people around the world.
1.  A PERIOD:  Take out your reasons why questions are important.

2.  A PERIOD:  THINK: 
  • Why is it important to develop questions?
  • Why have the rules for questioning? (from 9/18)
3. A PERIOD:  Take out your questions about regions & explore ABOUT in Google Classroom; then wait a moment.

4.  Take out your questions about regions.

5.  Use the linked doc to follow the direction for categorizing questions:  linked doc.  You do want to make a copy.  Make sure it is in your social studies folder in Drive.

7.  Prioritize:  Which questions are the most important ones to answer?  Choose at least 12 and mark them by underlining them on your categorization doc.

8.  In your categorization doc, go to ADD-ONS, then get Add-Ons.  Search for Easy Bib, and add it.  You will use this to cite ALL of your sources.

9.  You will be randomly assigned a region by the teacher.  Begin to investigate the region using your questions and jotting information in the categorization doc.
