1 With another near you, discuss - in your own words - why you are in social studies today (see above). 2 minutes

2.  Go to the assigned spot in the room based on which continent your country is in.  Discuss each countries' standard of living and compare them.  
5 minutes

3.  Class share.  8 minutes

4.  Discussion:  developed, developing, underdeveloped.    8 minutes

5.  Go to the CIA World Factbook and complete the following.  15 minutes
  • Choose a country - not the U.S. or one that you heard about today.
  • Determine it's standard of living and whether it is developed, developing, or underdeveloped.
  • Justify your above assessment with GDP per capita and one other (different kind) piece of data.
  • Be prepared to share.
