1/28 Standard of Living Comparison

Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
Please write your homework in your assignment book.
Please review the goal and agenda for the day which is posted in the classroom.

Today in class you will 
  • develop your understanding of the world.
  • analyze data to determine a country's standard of living.
  • compare countries standard of living.
  • draw a map.
Why?
  • To better understand the world around you.
  • To develop your critical thinking.
  • To develop your mental map of the world.

1.  With another near you, discuss - in your own words - why you are in social studies today (see above). 2 minutes

2.  You will finish the assignment that you started yesterday.  You are not permitted to work on this outside of class.  Go to Google Classroom, read the directions carefully, and begin your work.  Please ask questions when you need assistance.  40 minutes

3.  Continue drawing your map of Africa.  Draw in and label all countries and significant physical features.

Parents
You could ask your child the following: 
  • What is the difference between a developed, developing, and underdeveloped country?
  • What information best shows what a country's standard of living is like?
