NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

  • read about and summarize a current world news story.
  • develop your understanding of the world.
Why?
  • To develop your mental map of the world.
  • To begin seeing connections between yourself and other parts of the world.
  • To better understand the world around you.

1 Follow the new directions in News Day in Google Classroom. 35 minutes
  • Make sure the news story is plotted on your Google map and includes the summary.
  • Make sure you are careful of spelling and grammar (many of you do not like to use capital letters appropriately or put in appropriate sentence breaks).
2.  Turn in the work in Google Classroom when you are finished.

3. Write a poem of at least 10 lines on the vertical climate zones of the Andes Mountains - include traditional economy where it would be appropriate. Be daring and post it to your blog. #NationalPoetryMonth

4.  Review geography:

Parents
You could ask your child the following:
  • What are some significant events that have been going on in the world?
  • Show me your Google world news map.
