Today in class you will 

• choose a topic and plan how you will manage your time.
• explore the physical features, climate, and natural resources of Africa and Asia.
• understand how physical geography influences population density.
• determine important points about a topic.

Why?

• To better understand the world around you.
• To notice patterns in the world.
• To develop time management skills.

1.  With another near you, discuss - in your own words - why you are in social studies today (see above). 2 minutes

NOTE: Whenever you are waiting for Mr.d'E or others so you can complete a next step, appropriately comment on other students blogs: Give a compliment; respond to something specific (what did it make you think, do you agree/disagree - why), extend the conversation (add a relevant question; share what other ideas came to your mind as you read the post); do NOT critique their writing/thoughts. You may ALSO reply appropriately to comments left on your blog posts.

2.  Go to Google Classroom.  Open the assignment, and read through the document.    5 minutes

Wait for Mr.d'E to give you a brief overview.

3.  Determine who you will work with, your topic, a project type, and group expectations.     25 minutes

4.  Plan out how you will use your time efficiently, using the checklist as a guide.    15 minutes

5.  Begin becoming an expert on your topic.
