  • display your understanding about the world and places relative size, shape, and distance from one another.

Why?
  • To develop your mental map of the world.

1 In your SS Google Classroom FOLDER in Google DRIVE, create a document named "scrap paper."   4 minutes

2.  Brainstorm on paper: List continents. List oceans. List countries. List cities. List other physical features (land and water features) ex: Sahara Desert          7 minutes

2.  (Wait for me) Your mental map of the world.   30 minute

3.   Comparisons & goals.     5 minutes
Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • How good was your map in terms of size, shape, and distances?
  • Did you remember where all the continents and oceans are?
  • What countries were you most proud of remembering to include?
  • Why physical features (land features or water features were you most proud of remembering to include?
