Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).

Today in class you will 

•  improve your argument writing.

Why?

• To improve your writing skills.
• To demonstrate persistence.

A PERIOD: You will be participating in MysterySkype today.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2..    If you earned a grade lower than a B- on your argument writing, use the feedback to create a third draft. (Copy and paste your second draft above the first line and revise it there.) Ask for clarification when needed. Turn in your revised work (Draft document) by the end of the period.   40 minutes

3. Finish your map of Africa.      .   15 minutes

4. Choose to complete one of the following (complete another if you finish one):    40 minutes

• Create a world news summary on an article that is connected to economy - see Google Classroom FLEX
• Use Scratch to create a program that conveys the meaning of the term "economy" - see Google Classroom FLEX.
• Using the same guidelines as Africa, draw, label, and color a map of Southeast Asia.

Ask them.......

• What did you do to improve your argument writing?
• What are at least three things you learned about Africa from drawing the map?
• Explain about the news summary, Scratch project, or Southeast Asia map?
• If you child is in A Period: With whom did you Mystery Skype? Let's look at it on a map.
