  •  assess countries' standard of living.
  • write about a country's standard of living.

Why?
  • To develop your understanding of standard of living.
  • To become more understanding of others.
  • To develop your critical thinking.
  • To improve your writing skills.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Close your eyes and think about the factors that influence standard of living. What evidence would help to show about them? How would you explain about that evidence?             5 minutes

3.   Day 1:  You will be writing about country's standard of living by examining data. Listen carefully to the oral directions, then read the directions. Analyze the questions and information, then plan your response to the prompt.               40 minutes

4. Day 2: Write your draft to address the prompt.               30 minutes

5. Compare countries at the following link:  https://www.ifitweremyhome.com/
While making comparisons, which do you think has a higher standard of living? Why?
