1. Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above). 1 minute
- Discuss what would make people follow the Nazis and Hitler.
- Why would people follow the Nazis and Hitler?
- Why would the Nazis target Jewish people?
4. With your group: Discuss thematic statements you could develop about the Holocaust thus far. Write them in your thematic statement document. Write evidence from our study that helps prove all the thematic statements thus far are true. 15 minutes
5. Wait for whole class discussion. 5 minutes
6. By yourself, write your name on the back of a sticky note and list responses to the following on the front of the sticky note: 5 minutes
- at least two reasons why people would follow the Nazis and Hitler. (Draw a line to separate these from the response to below.)
- at least two reason why the Nazis would target Jewish people.
