1/3 Argument Writing Analysis and Physical Geography

Today in class you will

  • review information about climate, physical features, and natural resources.
  • analyze your own argument writing.
Why?

  • To deepen your understanding of human and physical geography.
  • To develop your argument writing skills.

DIRECTIONS

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  Prior to vacation you saved a PDF with a rubric and feedback about your argument writing to your social studies folder from an email I sent you.  Open that PDF now and review the rubric and feedback.          5 minutes

3.  Based on the rubric and feedback about the writing only (as opposed to the content), overall how would you assess your writing:  BEGINNING            PROGRESSING         PROFICIENT/EXPECTED             EXCEEDS EXPECTATION.        5 minutes

4.  Open your argument writing in Google Classroom, then, at the top - above the argument writing, list the 3-5 most critical things you could do to improve the writing.        12 minutes

5.  Wait for Mr.d'E.       

6.  Find  answers from the original sources and revise answers.         15 minutes

7.  Whole class share         10 minutes
