1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.   B PERIOD         5 minutes

With someone near you, 

• tell them one of the pieces of evidence that you are using.
• explain what your evidence is saying
• explain how your evidence supports the claim

3. B PERIOD   Finish choosing your evidence. Then explain your evidence.       30 minutes

4.  ACD PERIODS    Whole class: Take out your Ashoka Rock Edict papers.
