1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  With someone next to you discuss the following:        5 minutes
  • What type of government did Ancient Greece have?
  • What is a democracy?
  • What is an oligarchy?

3.  Read through at least four of your peers' insights in this slide deck.            5 minutes

4.  Wait for whole class share                 5 minutes

5.   Wait for further direction                 30 minutes

2.  Take the two sheets from the stand near the big map       1 minutes

3.  Using the maps in Google Classroom under Ancient Rome, follow the directions on the instruction sheet to label and color the map.            30 minutes

4.  Take the sheet from near the windows                1 minutes

5.   Borrow a reading from Mr.d'E and answer the questions                 10 minutes
