  • To develop your understanding of basic economic concepts.
  • To determine different countries' standard of living.
  • To better relate to the world around us.

12 minutes
    Open and review your Google Drawing web on standard of living.  It should show a connection between each of the following:
  1. wealth
  2. health
  3. education
  4. infrastructure
  5. leisure time
2.  25 minutes  10 pieces of data:  What element of standard of living is each best associated with?
  1. one at a time - discuss with group
  2. verify
  3. repeat
3.  15 minutes Practice w/ data:  Determine if you think the country's standard of living is high, low, or somewhere in the middle.  Be able to support your answer.

Parents
You could ask your child the following: 
  • What is standard of living?
  • How can you tell if a country has a high or low standard of living?
