12/17 Standard of Living 3

Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
Please write your homework in your assignment book.
Please review the goal and agenda for the day which is posted in the classroom.

Today in class you will 
  • begin to understand how to evaluate a country's standard of living.
Why?
  • To develop your understanding of basic economic concepts.
  • To determine different countries' standard of living.
  • To better relate to the world around us.

1. 2 minutes
    Open and review your Google Drawing web on standard of living.  It should show a connection between each of the following and show what type of data can show about standard of living:
  1. wealth
  2. health
  3. education
  4. infrastructure
  5. leisure time
2.   10 minutes Pairs practice w/ data:  Determine if you think the country's standard of living is high, low, or somewhere in the middle.  Be able to support your answer. Use the document in the ANNOUNCEMENT in Google Classroom.

3.  30 minutes Pairs discussions

Parents
You could ask your child the following: 
  • What is standard of living?
  • How do you analyze a country's standard of living?
