  • To develop your understanding of basic economic concepts.
  • To determine different countries' standard of living.
  • To better relate to the world around us.

12 minutes
    Open and review your Google Drawing web on standard of living.  It should show a connection between each of the following and show what type of data can show about standard of living:
  1. wealth
  2. health
  3. education
  4. infrastructure
  5. leisure time
2.  8 minutes  With your group evaluate the U.S.'s standard of living by evaluating the data.

3.  8 minutes Class debrief

4.  10 minutes Pairs practice w/ data:  Determine if you think the country's standard of living is high, low, or somewhere in the middle.  Be able to support your answer.

5.  25 minutes Class debrief

Parents

  • What is standard of living?
  • How can you tell if a country has a high or low standard of living?
