12/9 Year of No Rain Introduction

Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
Please write your homework in your assignment book.
Please review the goal and agenda for the day which is posted in the classroom.

Today in class you will 
  • engage in conversation about Sudan and South Sudan.
  • get ready to read Year of No Rain.
Why?
  • To develop your understanding of standard of living.
  • To develop your understanding of economic systems.
  • To begin seeing connections between yourself and other parts of the world.
  • To better understand the world around you.

1.  For Year of No Rain, an overview, guiding questions, and vocabulary terms are found in Google Classroom.  We will preview these and expectations in class.

2. Answer question #1 in the Year of No Rain document.

3.  Start reading.


Parents
You could ask your child the following: 
  • What was going on Sudan that is context for the historical fiction Year of No Rain?
