1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  By yourself and without using resources, write what you know about standard of living in your scrap paper doc.              5 minutes

3. By yourself and without using resources, answer the questions you find at this link.            10 minutes

4.  Look at the pictures posted around the room. Make a list of things in each picture (ID the picture) that influences your thoughts about the people's standard of living.             10 minutes

5.  Whole class share.             15 minutes

6. Categorize             10 minutes
