- Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
- Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).
Today in class you will
- think like a geographer.
- begin to understand the five themes of geography.
Why?
- To become better geographic thinkers.
- To develop your geographic lenses.
DIRECTIONS
If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)
1. Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above). 1 minute
2. Make a copy of the document linked here, and then use the folder icon next to the name to move it to your social studies folder. 2 minutes
3. The five themes of geography give you lenses through which you can examine the world. Work through each section on the document you copied. Check in with Mr.d’E when needed. 45 minutes

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
- Can you tell me what the five themes of geography are? Or can you name some of them?
- What is one thing that sticks out about the five themes for you? Why does it stick out?
