Today in class you will Explore information about basic economic concepts. Why? To strengthen your understanding of geography. To develop an understanding of how different places are connected. DIRECTIONS   If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting or Google A Day. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.) 1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute 2. Make a copy of the document linked here. Move it to your social studies folder using the folder icon next to its title.       1 minutes 3.Follow the directions in the document you just copied.           5 minutes 4.  Wait for whole class share.       10 minutes 5.  Engage in the basic economic concepts challenge linked here.       35 minutes ____________________________________ Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child, "What Did You Do in School Today?" Ask them....... What did you start to learn about basic economic concepts? If A,B,C,D,E,F,G,­H,I,J,K,L,M,N,­O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V, W,X,Y,Z   Equals 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20, 21,­22,23,24,25,26   Then  K –  N – O – W  –  L –  E –D –G –E 11 + 14 + 15 + 23 + 12 + 5 + 4 + 7 + 5 = 96%   H –A – R – D – W –  O –  R –  K 8 + 1 + 18 + 4 + 23 + 15 + 18 + 11 = 98%   Both are important, but both fall short of 100%.   BUT A – T –   T –   I –  T –   U – D – E 1 + 20 + 20 + 9 + 20 + 21 + 4 + 5 = 100%
