  • Participate in a discussion/Socratic seminar about your book.
Why?
  • To develop your speaking and listening skills.
  • To better understand human and physical geography.
  • To develop your understanding of standard of living.
  • To develop skills at explaining.

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)
1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute
2. Socratic seminar with book group                  15+ minutes

3. GimKit            10 MINUTES

4. Questions on board: small group discussion.            7 MINUTES

5. Questions on board: Whole class discussion.            20 MINUTES

  • What are the most interesting things about your book?
  • How is your book connected to geography?
  • What do GDP per capita and infant mortality rate show us about standard of living?
