NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute
2.  Read the chapter related to that topic and take two column notes.  (If you choose the last topic, start with this. You do not have an assigned partner. Move it to the social studies folder.)           30 minutes

3.  Identify the main ideas / points someone should understand about your topic. Put them in appropriate spots on the left side of your two column notes.           10 minutes

4. Find additional sources related to your topic.           30 minutes
see Mr. d'E for search help
check to see if the source is reliable
collect citation information for the source

5.  Take two column notes on the additional sources.           30 minutes

"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What important and/or interesting ideas have you found out about your topic?
