NOTE: Links to Google Classroom, Google Docs, or other Google Apps for Education will require students to log in to their school account.

NOTE: Due to the drop period in our schedule, there are times that your student might be working on a previous day's agenda. That will be noted at the top of the post.

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  Read through the different resources linked here.         30 minutes
-->  As you read, jot notes details on the right side in the same document.

3.  Compare your notes with an assigned partner.  Is there anything glaring that either of you missed? How are the notes similar and different?         10 minutes

4.  With your partner, discuss main ideas that your notes get across.        10 minutes
--> Jot the main ideas in the space provided on your notes document.
--> Make each main idea a different color, and make the details that go along with that main idea the same
               color.

5.  With your partner, categorize each of the SDG as focusing mainly on human geography or physical geography using the 3rd slide of your document.        10 minutes

6.  By yourself on that same notes document, write the SDGs that you think are the 5 most important.  Jot down a few ideas as to why you think it is most important.        5 minutes

6.  Create a sketchnote for your 5 Global Goals.        35 minutes
         --> use regular pencil first
--> refer to sketchnote resources in Google Classroom

--> get across each goal's importance

--> add color at the end - color pencils will work best

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What are some interesting things you've learned about the UN Sustainable Development Goals?
