• To help you become more articulate and thoughtful about geography

DIRECTIONS

If you are ever waiting for a direction, please use PlaceSpotting by students, PlaceSpotting , Google A Day, or this Google Maps Scavenger Hunt or create a meme for one of our social studies topics from the year. (Don't search for the question or use a Google A Day answer site.)

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2. Complete the form linked here.

3. Continue to create contextual sentences from where you left off with your group yesterday.       30 minutes

        --> Create contextual sentences that use the vocabulary. Use context in the sentence to give the gist of the term.
         --> Refer to the example for the term STORE

                        example: I went to the store to buy gum and milk.

         --> Use your brainstorm list to help you.

4.  Create a sketchnote for the 7 most difficult terms for yourself.        20 minutes

         --> refer to sketchnote resources in Google Classroom
         --> use regular pencil first

         --> get across each term's meaning in words and pictures

         --> fill the page
         --> add color at the end - color pencils will work best

3. Brainstorm by yourself:  (You'll need a copy of the vocab list in Google Classroom under Human & Physical Geography) 

         --> click the arrow at the top of the second column to give more space to type your brainstorm

         --> For each term list as many other ideas or words that you would associate with the term. 1 minute per term.  For example: What words and ideas come to mind when you think of "standard of living."        25 minutes

4.  In the people at your table:        25 minutes

         --> Create contextual sentences that use the vocabulary. Use context in the sentence to give the gist of the term.
         --> Refer to the example for the term STORE

                        example: I went to the store to buy gum and milk.

         --> Use your brainstorm list to help you.

         --> You are not defining the term.

5.  With 5 minutes left in class, determine as a group which is your best sentence.  One person copy it, and use "ctrl shift v" to paste it on your slide linked here.          5 minutes
