2/5 "Refugee"

Reminders

  • Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).

Today in class you will

  • reflect on "Refugee" and share about main ideas and themes from the novel.
Why?

  • To deepen your understanding of human geography.
  • To develop empathy.

DIRECTIONS

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  B & D PERIODS: Brain dump.        7 minutes

3.  D PERIOD:  In your discussion groups, discuss the guiding questions on which you took notes. EACH person should contribute to the discussion. Your discussion should last this ENTIRE time.           15 minutes

4.  Wait for "Refugee" directions.        10 minutes

5.  "Refugee" work.       35 minutes
