1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.  Look at the maps and prepare responses to the prompts on the linked Ancient Australia Migration slides.                      5 minutes

3.   If you did NOT yesterday, go to the atlas linked here. In notebook or scrap paper doc:                      5 minutes
  • Look at page 37. What is the topic of the top map?  What do you notice?
  • Look at page 38. What is the topic of the top map?  What do you notice?
  • Look at page 39. What is the topic of the top map?  What do you notice?
  • How do you think the climate and physical features (not just elevation) influenced the population patterns you noticed on page 39?
  • Why do you think Ancient Aborigines had migration patterns along the coast of Australia?
