  • show that you have a sense of what the economy is.
Why?
  • To develop your understanding of basic economic concepts.
  • To begin seeing connections between yourself and other parts of the world.
  • To describe how different economic systems try to answer the basic economic questions of what to produce, how to produce, and for whom to produce.

1 Turn to someone at your group.  Gesture and mirror with that person the definition of economy:  Economy is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. (If no one at your group is ready, turn to someone in a group next to your group.)

2.  Repeat #1 until Mr.d'E asks you to stop.

3.  One person from your group
4.  Slides:
  • Read through the directions on the first slide,
  • discuss the directions with your group,
  • ask Mr.d'E clarifying questions,
  •  then follow the directions. You may want to refer to the brainstorming done yesterday which is linked here - you may want to make a copy and put it in your social studies classroom folder.
5.  Gallery walk.
