1 With another near you, discuss - in your own words - why you are in social studies today (see above). 2 minutes

2.  Finish following the directions on the population sheets that you were given Monday. Help each other out.  Materials are on the front table.  15 minutes

3.  Carefully draw and color a scene that shows the influence of climate, physical features, and natural resource on the development of a settlement.  Label items in your scene to show how they relate to the topic.  20 minutes

4.  Share with the class.  10 minutes

Instead, you could ask your child the following: 
  • What surprised you most about the population in the world?
  • How did seeing the population circles help you better understand the world?
