9/26 Absolute & Relative Location

  • identify elements of a world map.
  • describe locations on a world map.
  • use latitude and longitude.

Why?
  • To better understand the map as a tool for learning.
  • To better understand and practice how to determine and describe where places are.

1.  Label the map on the floor. I think you can do it in 4 minutes!!!   8 minutes

3.  Absolute location practice Koosh. Write the coordinates      5 minutes

4.  Define & gesture.     5 minutes

5. Relative location: describe the location w/out coordinates.      5 minutes

6. Add another Koosh. Where is one in relation to the other?      15 minutes

7.  Define & gesture.     5 minutes

8.  Atlas practice.     10 minutes
