  •  synthesize information about standard of living.

Why?
  • To develop your understanding of standard of living.
  • To become more understanding of others.
  • To develop your critical thinking.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Complete the questions for the Book Check in Google Classroom.             10 minutes

3.  Discuss your thoughts and observations about the book with your group. Share the excerpt you chose from the book and explain why you chose it.            7 minutes

4. Standard of living questions: I will answer those you wrote yesterday.             10 minutes

5.  Assessing the factors influencing standard of living: high, medium, low. For each factor, analyze the picture with your group. Indicate why you are assessing it that way for each factor by making judgments about wealth, health, education, infrastructure, & leisure time.             10 minutes

8. Whole class share --> data.              10 minutes

Parents: Instead of Asking Your Child,
"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • What did you think of the book that you read? Why?
  • Explain to me about each of the five factors that influences standard of living?
