6/5 Rescue & Rebellion

Whenever you need help, please ask for it.
Please write your homework in your assignment book.
Please review the goal and agenda for the day (posted in the classroom).


Today in class you will 
  • discover how people were upstanders and bystanders during the Holocaust.
  • take notes from multiple sources.

Why?
  • To develop empathy.
  • To develop your reading skills. 
  • To develop your note taking skills. 
  • To practice identifying main ideas.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

2.  Make a copy of the document at this link. Move it into the social studies folder in Drive.              3 minutes

3. By yourself, follow the directions in the document you just made a copy of.             40 minutes

4. If you complete three, continue by working with the other topics.              15 minutes

"What Did You Do in School Today?"
Ask them.......
  • Who was an upstander during the Holocaust?
  • What happened in the Warsaw Ghetto?
  • Describe what happened with the SS St. Louis.
