  • identify cause-event-effect relationships

  • to more deeply understand why Confucianism, Daoism, and legalism developed
  • to more deeply understand the characteristics of Confucianism, Daoism, and legalism

DIRECTIONS    If you are waiting at any point, work with the Waiting Activities listed in the right-hand column of this page.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.    Continue work from last class:  Cause --> Event -->  Impact         Confucianism         10 minutes .

3.    Whole class discussion        10 minutes 

4.   Identify the three most important ideas about each of the following and write in your scrap paper document.             15 minutes 
  • Shang Dynasty
  • Zhou Dynasty
  • Qin Dynasty
  • Confucianism
  • Daoism
  • Legalism

5.   You will be paired up to share your 18 ideas. You may add to/alter your list.            5 minutes 

6.   For a second time, you will be paired up to share your 18 ideas. You may add to/alter your list.            5 minutes 

7.   Create a study tool for Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism.  As discussed before, this would be something you could use over and over and would not just be reading the information.
